It's Officially The Week Of Jim Nantz - Showed Up To A Houston Pep Rally, Got The Fans All Fired Up With A 'Remember The Alamodome' Mic Drop

I don't know if it's a hot take or what even can be considered hot takes these days. It's a term I kind of hate, because it's basically people screaming it if they disagree with what you said. It's either 'hot take' or 'you don't know ball' when in reality it's 'yeah, I think the other side.' But I love Jim Nantz. He's still got that big game voice, maybe it's the fact he was the only person I knew to call the Final Four. He obviously calls football and the Masters. Basically any big game, I just expected to hear Jim Nantz.

Now he's a diehard Houston fan who waits all year for The Masters. Not a bad life. I know he still is stuck with Tony Romo in the booth, but he lives for Masters week. That's taking a bit of a delay this week obviously with Houston playing for a title. So what does he do? Goes to the pep rally and gets the Houston fans fired up with this mic drop:

I'm pretty sure Nantz is the only person who can make this sound cool. If it was anyone else it's like alright, that's the only thing you can come up with? But then you remember the end of every single title game where Nantz hit us with his one-liner about the team. I miss that. This is basically that version of it. He can only do it for Houston, he has to show up to pep rallys, but it's good to know he still has this in his arsenal.

I'm starting to think there's a little Nantz magic in the air for Houston. He has that sweatshirt that is undefeated. He pushed back his trip to Augusta, he's doing this, all signs are pointing for Houston. If they have the lead late, Eagle needs to let Nantz come on air and drop one line about Houston. It's only right at this point.
