Florida Middle School Principal Gets Arrested For Oddly Enough A Crime Committed By Most Middle Schoolers

NY Post - A Florida middle school principal said he “did something dumb” after he was arrested at Walmart for trying a shoplifting tactic he claims his friends told him would work.
Bok Academy North Principal Gregory Lewis was at a Winter Haven Walmart in Polk County on Saturday afternoon when an asset protection officer observed him “skip scanning” at the self-checkout, WFLA reported.
Lewis had been caught placing a bag of disposable foam plates between more expensive items to steal them and only pay for the cheaper items.
He had tried to steal a large pack of light bulbs, bacon, and frozen butterfly shrimp, totaling $37.45, according to an arrested affidavit obtained by the outlet.
The middle school principal, who admitted to the crime, told a Winter Haven police officer during his arrest that his friends had told him about the shoplifting tactic and that he wanted to try it out for himself.
“We sit around talking, ‘Hey I did this.’ Let me try and see what I can get away with,” Lewis told an officer who was wearing a body camera during his arrest.
“I did something dumb today and I understand it.”
I realize the picture above is CVS and the crime took place at a Walmart, but the internet has some regulations and one of them is using sanctioned pictures to avoid getting sued so here we are.
Additionally, I know the crime is "skip scanning" but let's be honest it's shop lifting.
I found this story to be hilarious to be honest. And again, shoplifting is all time scum, and theft across a ton of industries fucks innocent people. We all know about my Geico saga, and I've been told because of car thefts across the board, rates have skyrocketed. Shoplifting is even more scummy when you do it to mom and pop shops as they don't have the big time corporate funding, and the loss comes directly out of Mom and Pop's pockets. But even with all that said. This is hilarious.
This guy is so stupid it's alarming. The total being $37.45 is just a remarkable fact. $37.45 !!!!!! Is he kidding me? My God. The items also cracked me up. Lightbulbs, bacon and frozen butterfly shrimp. FROM WALMART ! Just remarkable stuff.
But the real kicker for me here is when the middle school principal basically turned into a middle schooler when he said "his friends told him about it and he wanted to try it out himself. I literally couldn't believe it. This guy has probably spent HOURS telling kids not to do things just because their friends do, and probably gave all the "if your friends jumped off …" speech we all have heard 18393292 times in our lives, and then he goes and does this basically because he got peer pressured. Just an all time dummy. Astoundingly stupid.
