Not April Fool's: Coastal Carolina Is Introducing Unlimited Free Concessions at Football Games in 2025

Making this announcement only hours before April Fool's Day — in which adults are still somehow participating in The Year of Our Lord 2025 — was a hell of a decision from the folks over at Coastal Carolina, but it seems like the free concessions are actually real and will be making their way to Brooks Stadium for the 2025 football season.

According to CCU's press release, fans will be limited to four items per concession stand visit, but may make unlimited trips throughout the game. Hot dogs, nachos, popcorn and fountain drinks will be available at no cost.

Every Group of Five school in America should do this tomorrow. I understand you're never going to get SEC schools to give up millions of dollars in concession revenue, but if you're a school fighting to get people to your game on a Saturday afternoon instead of going to Clemson or South Carolina — or just staying home and watching every game — this is a no-brainer. Give the people as many dogs and popcorn boxes as they can handle.

The other no-brainer is getting a crew together from the Barstool office to head down to Conway, S.C., this fall and make Coastal Carolina rue the day it made unlimited concessions free of charge.
