The A's Appear To Have Spared No Expense When It Comes To Their Fancy New Press Conference Area In Sacramento

Last night the A's made their Sacramento debut and it did not go to plan. It featured more "sell the team chants," the Cubs scoring 18 runs with their 9 hitter going for the cycle, and an A's position player having to come in to pitch.

Just a small setback for what's sure to be a great season at a random minor league stadium in Sacramento. I'm curious how all of this is going to turn out. If we have March winds blowing the ball out like last night then what's it going to look like in the summer?
One thing of note is what the press room looks like. It's, for lack of a better term, a shed.
Looks like something you can make after a trip to Home Depot. Couple issues. For starters it's a small shed that's going to cram in reporters like sardines on a nightly basis. If it's a windy day you're just going to hear the wind.
On top of that can you imagine how hot that sucker is gonna get in the summer? I can't wait for the media members to complain about the unlivable conditions in that shed.
The clubhouse is also not located near the dugouts, but out beyond center field.
That walk of shame out there after getting absolutely destroyed on the mound. Or even if you have to take a mid-game shit you gotta jog out there to do your business.
That's Sacramento baseball baby. Three years of this is going to be so weird. Imagine they accidentally get decent one season and sneak into the playoffs. Picture a postseason series having to be played at a minor league stadium like this. I'd say only the A's, except the Rays are doing the same thing just at a much better facility.
