Richie Saunders Is Now Being Called The 'Tater Tot King' After BYU Chanted It At Him And We All Found Out His Great-Grandfather Invented Them

We found out this story randomly last week, basically out of nowhere. We just got hit with the story that Richie Saunders' great grandfather is the guy who invented tater tots. He's one of the most important people in my life strictly for the fact that once or twice a week my kids are giddy to sit down and eat everything for dinner. Tater tots are the ultimate kid hack. But now it goes even further, we have an NIL deal:

We have his new nickname

The team is chanting tater tot at him

It's all so perfect. Saunders is an All-Big 12 player, he's their leading scorer, he's going to play in the NBA, but from here on out I can only think of him as the tater tot guy. It's one of those that's so dumb but so perfect all at once. One story goes viral that somehow stayed hidden for years and here's where we are at. It's March and his team is chanting tater tots at him. They need to embrace this immediately by Saturday. I need tater tots in the crowd, I need tater tots involved as much as possible.

Not to mention Tater Tot King is kind of a sick nickname. Everyone likes tater tots. I'm not a fan of them plain, but you dress them up a little and I'm all in. You go to a restaurant and get some nice tater tots on the menu, you're thrilled. Forget the win against VCU, the tater tot king is now the story.
