St. John's With A Chance To Win An Outright Big East Title For The First Time Since 1985 Means One Thing Only - Rick Pitino In The White Suit
There are certain things you see and know it means more. The USC/UCLA red vs blue football game. Color rush between the Jags and Titans on Thursday Night Football back in the day. The Masters theme song. But arguably the most notable? Rick Pitino in the white suit. Look at this bad boy.
But today is a little different. It means something that I haven't seen in my lifetime as a 38-year old:
St. John's Big East champs. They went co-champs in 1992, but haven't won outright since 1985. The same year St. John's made its last Final Four. Rick Pitino had no other option but to wear the white suit. We saw him wear the Lou Carnesecca sweater. That also would work today, but it's Pitino's program now. Pitino has always meant more in the white suit. Now it's time for him to win a Big East title, fulfill his destiny of bringing St. John's back and be the face of New York sports again.
