The Ladies Were Chuckin' Some Knucks Last Night In The PWHL

The 4 Nations final wasn't the only battle between a couple of American and Canadian teams on the ice last night. In PWHL action, we had Boston taking the trip up north to take on Ottawa. In the white corner, fighting for the Boston Fleet, we've got good ol' Halifax girl Jill Saulnier. Played her college hockey at Cornell, and is an Olympic gold medalist. In the red corner, fighting for the Ottawa Charge, we've got Tereza Vanisova. She came over from the Czech Republic to play her college hockey at Maine, and is a 3x Isobel Cup Champion.

If you didn't think fighting was back in hockey after USA and Canada squared off 3 times in the first 9 seconds in their game on Saturday night, the fact that we had a fight in the PWHL is all the evidence you need. Sure, the ladies are wearing full cages out here so we're not going to see the gloves getting dropped. That would be ridiculous. And maybe they don't exactly know what they're doing besides just throwing punches like a lunatic and hoping a few of them land. But that's what is so great about it.

Jill Saulnier and Tereza Vanisova were born to be hockey players. You look at the way the WNBA handles conflict and it's always just waiting until the games are over so they can bitch on social media. Not hockey players. If these ladies have an issue with each other, they're just going to settle it right there on the ice. Chuck some knucks, go sit in the box for 5 minutes to cool off, and move on. Hell yeah.
