Ryen Russillo Gives His Take On The Notion That The NBA Is In Trouble
On today's Pardon My Take... RYEN RUSSILLO! The longtime friend of the show joined Mr. Cat and Mr. Commenter on today's episode to talk NBA, World War II facts, who he thinks is going to win the title, and more.
A tradition unlike any other: an NBA preview with Ryen Russillo that takes place four months into the regular season. But this time, there is a ton of buzz about the state of the league. It is no secret that the NHL created a lot more headlines than the NBA's All-Star Weekend, but what about the sport overall?
Well luckily for NBA fans, there is no bigger ball-watcher and knower of the National Basketball Association than Ryen Russillo himself. So when asked about the league's status on today's show, what did he have to say? Take a look...
Russillo does bring up some good points. The first few months of the season did go up against a massive election. The three point focus that the league has taken over the last decade or so has totally revamped the identity of the game, for better or for worse.
We are rarely seeing those games in the 80's on each side anymore. If any team doesn't break 100, it is not considered good.
But Russillo isn't breaking out the panic button just yet. He argues that people love to dunk (pun intended) on the league just to pile on. And I find it hard to disagree with that.
