The Idiots Are Once Again Trying Ruin The Greatest Event In Sports, Attempting To Push The NCAA Tournament To Expand To 76 Teams Next Season

I hate writing this blog, but I will every time. There is nothing I probably care about more than screaming how dumb NCAA Tournament expansion is. There's not one good justification for expanding the NCAA Tournament. It's not like they are trying to save mid-majors here, this is all about getting the 11th best Big 10 team into the field. This is all about getting shit power conference teams into the NCAA Tournament. 

You know how I know this is the dumbest idea in the world? Look at the reaction to anyone saying expansion is a good idea. Alabama fans booed the everliving shit out of the segment. All weekend on Twitter people talked about how this is going to ruin the sport. It's true. We already battle 'the regular season doesn't matter' crowd in college basketball. We get the sprint that we're in right now from when football ends to conference tournaments. You know conference tournaments, that week where everyone talks about how awesome the sport is? Yeah, those won't matter anymore.

Here's the secret. We already have play-in games. They are the conference tournaments. We get it every single year even if people don't realize it. It used to be the 8/9 game in the ACC or something like that. Winner is likely in, loser is likely out. There's your play-in game. You know what else I don't feel bad about? Teams who can't fucking win in the regular season not making the postseason. The NCAA Tournament is supposed to matter. It's supposed to be hard. It's supposed to be an invite for 36 at-large teams since we expanded to 68. 

The worst part? This overtook college basketball this weekend. We had awesome games, shit, we have a 1 vs. 2 game and yet people kept talking about NCAA Tournament expansion. No one wants this. Look at the current teams who are on the bubble and missing the NCAA Tournament. You want a North Carolina in this event? Fuck no. SMU? Cincinnati? Villanova? These aren't good teams. These aren't teams worth the NCAA Tournament. These are the teams we'd be getting. 

I can't stop laughing at the report it's consensus. It's only consensus by commissioners and people like that. The fans have a consensus that this sucks and is the dumbest idea. That's why 'IF' in Thamel's report isn't real. It's going to happen. We're dangerously close to this BASEketball bit coming true
