'We Acted Like We're The No. 1 Team' - Bruce Pearl And All Of Auburn Talked Shit To Anyone And Everyone During The Basketball Iron Bowl
While we wait for world's number 1 Alabama Nate Oats fan in the world to speak, I have to say some truth here. Bruce Pearl earned the right to talk this shit. They are the best team in the country right now. I don't want to say it. I don't want any SEC team to be the best in the country while Kentucky plays. But the committee said it:
KenPom says it. AP says it. Everyone says it. But really, I just wanted to highlight Chad Baker-Mazara for being the perfect lunatic in this rivalry and really in college basketball:
You even had Nate Oats begging fans to not throw stuff on the floor:
And look, Auburn dominated this game:
This is what I want in college basketball. Rivalries that mean something. Duke/UNC is dead this year. Kentucky/Louisville is an ass kicking for the gold standard of the sport every year. Give me some true hatred with Chad Baker-Mazara getting into it with Alabama fans for no reason. I can't even spinzone it against Auburn right now. They earned the right to talk shit. And Johni Broome was awesome. I know people declared Cooper Flagg NPOY when Broome got hurt, but Broome never should have been taken out of consideration.
Again, this was No. 1 vs No. 2. This deserved to be talked about. The morons in college basketball are trying to expand the field to 76. I don't want that. I want games like this to matter in the regular season. Talk shit when you win and everyone get mad. This is what college sports is built on.
