End Of An Era - It Sounds Like Scott Hanson Could Be Leaving Red Zone, Witching Hour May Never Be The Same
What the hell man? Look, I'm 38-years old, I'm a man who at this point is basically set in my ways. There's far too much change happening on how I have to watch football. For basically my entire life I was a DirecTV guy so I could have Sunday Ticket, watch the Giants out of market and all that. That meant I was an Andrew Sciliano RedZone guy. Then they lost the package and I got used to Scott Hanson talking about the witching hour and that voice became TV1 because the Giants are fucking pathetic.
Now we're about to lose him to NBC? I gotta get used to another voice? There are staples as far as I'm concerned in the TV world. Joe Buck and Troy Aikman have to call games together. Bill Raftery needs to be on the best Big East game every single night. We've had to get used to switching channels for what games are on, get used to streaming Thursday night, basically constantly updating our brains to be programmed where to go since football has us by the balls.
I know this might be a good career move for Scott Hanson. Good for him. But this is about me. This is about keeping my brain normal and not having to keep on changing. You know what I miss? The old days. The days where we knew what channel everything was on and could just hit channel 6 in Pennsylvania for Monday Night Football. Channel 32 was for Chris Berman. I know we all love the witching hour, it happens a lot. But, how do you lose Scott Hanson this fast? The entire world just became Scott Hanson guys.
PS: Be honest, Scott. Was it the new commercials that caused this? Feels like that broke him.
