'We Getting Fired Anyway, Ernie. Fuck It!' - Inside The NBA Has Reached The Point Of Simply Not Giving A Shit What They Say On TV
It was only a matter of time before Inside the NBA truly just mailed it in. Mailed it in might be the wrong saying here, but just gave up on truly caring. They have been pawns to a degree of the whole media shift in where the NBA is going and will they stay together and what channel will they be on. This is why they need to stay together. I say it all the time, but it's the best studio show because of the entertainment factor. Shaq and Charles Barkley treat each other like younger brothers and constantly fighting. Kenny Smith is the cousin who always is trying to fit in before the two of them turn on him. Then there's Ernie Johnson, the guy trying to keep it all together while occasionally giving up all hope of that.
I'm all for getting these guys somewhere where they can just be uncensored and let them say whatever. It's what makes this the entertaining portion of the show. It's not like I care about them breaking down the game. That's not what the show is about. It's about making me actually care about a studio show. I can see the game, I can read people talking about the game on social media. Just let me see some pals chopping it up and having a good time.
That clip needs to be in some sort of TV Hall of Fame. It makes me laugh every single time I watch it. No one able to keep it together, the police presence line. It's perfect. It's what I want from a group of guys who are supposed to be talking about games on TV.
