Ohio State Is Hiring 3x Super Bowl Champion (And Dave Portnoy's Best Friend) Matt Patricia To Be Their Defensive Coordinator

Listen I don't know much about this guy. I'm going to defer to the biggest Patriots fan I know, Dave Portnoy, on if he's any good. I see that he won 3 Super Bowls and I see that he called some great defenses in his time, but I want to know about him more as a person. Is he a good guy? Can you trust him? Is he a good role model? Those are the types of things you can't see from reading a (very accomplished) Wikipedia page. Those types of things can only be found out when you talk to someone who really knows the guy.

I'll let Dave speak on if this is a good hire or not. I will say that from simply reading about his accomplishments and his defenses, this looks like an absolute home run for Ohio State. Seems like the Buckeyes are reloading instead of rebuilding after their National Championship season. Seems like 7-5 would be a complete and utter failure next season. But again, I'll defer to his best friend to hear what type of guy Matt Patricia is. That will ultimately determine my opinion on this hire beyond the fact that he clearly calls an elite defense.
