At some point, the pain has to stop for Mavs fans. It just has to. One fanbase should only be subjected to so much pain, and it just feels like at the moment they can't catch a goddamn break. Every five seconds is another shotgun blast to the chest to the point where you can't help but feel for them. Nobody should have to go through shit like this as a fan, which brings us to the latest kick right to the dick

Everything about this is weird. It's fucked that Nico Harrison and the Mavs new ownership group put Dirk in this position in the first place. What should be happening tonight is Dirk in the building in Dallas while Luka made his return from injury. Instead, they make their franchise legend have to put out a tweet like that because the organization decided to be a bunch of bozos and trade Luka to the Lakers. They made shit awkward for Dirk. DIRK. Think about what that's doing to a Mavs fan right now? You already ripped their heart out by trading Luka, and now you're putting Dirk in uncomfortable spots? The dude has a statue! He IS the Dallas Mavericks. 

Somehow, some way, this trade has gotten even worse. Just when you didn't think it was possible, here we are. Dirk is passing up Mavs home games so he can go be a quasi-Lakers fan. Brutal. And you know what? As he should. You'll see the reaction to Dirk from Mavs fans is fully supportive, as it should be. Luka is his guy, this isn't Dirk's fault. The fans get it, and it's bullshit that this situation even exists in the first place. Shame on Nico Harrison, shame on that ownership group. You are doing legitimate damage to your fanbase, something that not even a title will fully recover from. 

At some point Mavs fans are simply going to tap out and enough will be enough. I'd say trading Luka and then as a result making Dirk feel weird is about all I'd have to see. Again, Mavs fans don't deserve this shit. I don't want to keep saying it but I want to know that they have support. This whole thing is fucked.
