Joe Rogan Said He Wouldn’t Do The Kamala Harris Interview During Max Holloway vs Ilia Topuria - “I’m Not Gonna Miss That”
Politics aside, this is the ultimate "fight guy" story to me. Joe Rogan told the Vice President of the United States (and an at the time Presidential Candidate) who wanted to sit down with him for an interview that he would do it....so long as it wasn't during Max Holloway vs Ilia Topuria. And that's not because Rogan was working the card and commentating that huge UFC title fight, but because he flew a couple of his buddies (Eddie Bravo, Brendan Schaub, and Bryan Callen) down to Austin to watch the fights with him/do a live podcast during the card. Hilarious.
I actually think he would've told Trump the same thing if his team tried to schedule a podcast during UFC 308 as well, but odds are - Trump would actually be watching the event as well. Hell, Rogan might've just invited him on for the fight companion. Maybe Kamala should've suggested that and gone on with insane conspiracy theorist Eddie Bravo. It might've tanked the campaign but it might've actually beat the Trump interview in views!
Some guys just love ball, and other guys love fights, and Joe Rogan is one of those guys who can't get enough of the fights. He'll be doing these fight companions getting teary eyed and emotional about underdogs making comebacks until the day he dies. Fights come first, the Presidential Candidates come next.
P.S. I heard JackMac's interview with Kamala fell apart for the same reason - had to watch UFC.
