UMass Kid Drills A Halfcourt Shot For $10k, Company Refuses To Pay Him Out Because His Toe Was On The Line (Offered A Gift Card Though)

Here we go again. I can't believe how often this happens and companies keep doing this. Pretty simple contest here. 30 seconds to make a layup, free throw, three and halfcourt shot. This is where the problem comes in because it was ruled good and he still had time on the clock. He could have made another one. That shot was pretty pure, who knows.

Good news though. The company is offering him something better than $10,000:

$100 gift card to use at the arena? Buddy, you can't pass that up! Gift cards are better than currency where I come from. It's free money, it's all fake. Oh and if that wasn't good enough look at the rest of the stuff you can get. The ability to do ANOTHER contest for $1,000. Some good seats to this packed arena. Can't pass that up. Oh and a swag bag as long as items are available. I've been watching a lot of Deal or No Deal Island lately (shout out Paravati) and can't think of one person who wouldn't take this deal. $10,000, at least getting the right ruling, or all of this.

What did they think was the endgame here? That people wouldn't see it and run with it. You just gotta pay out the $10k or come up with a better offer. Again, the ruling was good. This is my problem with college basketball. You can't go to the monitor this much. You gotta make a call on the floor and keep the game going. Stop wasting time by going to the monitor in this sport. Bad calls happen all the time in this sport, we live with it, so should you.

PS: One person couldn't come out and celebrate with this guy? Come on, give me something here.
