"We Need a WR. A Real WR. Love The Guys We Have But We Need A Proven No. 1" - Josh Jacobs Knows Ball And Is Actively Hitting The Recruiting Trails To Make The Packers Great

Josh Jacobs signing with the Packers last offseason ended up being one of the best moves throughout the entire league. He was a fucking star this past season and into the playoffs. In the Philly game he was pretty much the only offensive player who showed up and gave it everything he had. I'm so happy this dude is part of the team's future. As if I could love him any more, it seems like Jacobs is already thinking about next season and recruiting to make the team better.

The talk of Packer land this week has quickly shifted to a series of interviews Jacobs did yesterday at the Super Bowl. He made it clear what he wants the front office to address in the offseason.

That's what everyone is up in arms about? Let's make one thing clear, absolutely no part of that clip is false. The Packers have a ton of young talent in their wide receiver room with guys like Romeo Doubs, Jayden Reed, Christian Watson, and to a degree Dontayvion Wicks. While it's at times a good thing that defenses can't game plan for one guy to take out with the always rotating door of top options to go to, it's definitely a problem that there's no alpha in that room. Someone you can go to consistently in big moments. Who can command a double team and allow the rest of the receivers to take advantage. Someone who can be that guy to takeover when you need it most. Josh Jacobs recognizes the team needs that kind of seasoned, elite receiver.

Some Packers WRs took to the internet to react to the clip. They weren't pleased.

You may see that as an issue, but I think it's great. Let them be mad so they keep working to prove people wrong. Use that shit as fuel to get better! And while that's happening, go get a fucking number one receiver. Tee Higgins is gonna be the name thrown around, but he'll have plenty of suitors. A Davante Adams reunion is gonna be talked about no doubt. Just get somebody who has been in the league for a bit now and can be that dude.

It's great to have a young core and think about the future as those guys develop, but it can't hurt to get a true number one option and take some pressure off of them as well. It's never a bad idea to have one of your best players actively recruiting good players to your team. God forbid the guy is honest and speaks some logic into existence instead of living in denial. The horror! Jacobs wants this to be a Super Bowl team and there's potential for that to happen. There are definitely building blocks here to be great, they just need to polish off the roster. Gute said he's going to be aggressive this offseason. Listen to Josh Jacobs. Get me a stud defensive end who can destroy the quarterback and got get Love his number 1. Let's be great.
