Jameis Winston Spoke About The Famous 2014 Crab Legs Incident On Pardon My Take
On today's Pardon My Take... JAMEIS WINSTON! The NFL quarterback, Heisman Winner, and recurring guest of the show joined for the second time to talk about his past season, God delivering him from Pick 6’s, making the worst snowman and his future.
But when you think about Jameis Winston, one of the top things that comes to mind are... CRAB LEGS! That's right. It all started in 2014, when Winston was coming off a BCS National Title at Florida State...
He was GIFTED the crab legs from Publix. He did not steal them. It was all a big misunderstanding, and crazy to think about how fragile the NCAA rules were before the NIL era.
Anyways, fast forward to today's show, and we got Jameis' thoughts on this crazy incident. Take a look at what he had to say...
Man, it is really crazy how different this chain of events would have gone down if it happened in 2025 instead of 2014. As stated in the clip above, the NIL money that would have come with Jameis and crab leg companies would have been INSANE!
It is cool to see how Winston was able to joke about this situation now, and like I said, I think the biggest takeaway from all of this is seeing how much that landscape in collegiate athletics has truly changed. Everything was an NCAA violation back in the day, but now, something like this would have gotten Jameis PAID during his time in Tallahassee.
