Golf's Biggest Rivalry: Jason Day Wearing A Sweatsuit During Pebble Beach's Final Round vs People Screaming For Tradition
This isn't the first time we've seen people wage war against Jason Day and his outfits. In fact, our very own Francis, did such a thing:
Note that was for a major. We're talking about Pebble Beach here, a place that kept being called a cathedral of golf all weekend after Rory brought it up. Jason Day decided to rock a sweatsuit on Sunday. We know what Jason Day is doing. The man is going to wear outrageous stuff every single week and people are going to lose their minds. It's golf newest rivalry.
Does it look stupid? Yeah, probably. But it's comfortable as hell. I'd love to wear a sweatsuit while golfing, but I know I never will. In fact as I've gotten older, I've leaned more into saying wearing some golf pants are more comfortable than golf shorts. Give me a polo and golf pants any day of the week. Also goes to show you the weather is probably ideal golfing weather.
Do I care enough to get pissed at Jason Day wearing a sweatsuit at Pebble Beach? Of course not. This is what he's going to do and what he's done over the last year. He's going to wear outfits that get traditional people pissed off. I'm waiting for him to wear jeans one round and really rile people up. There will be a loophole where they are denim colored pants or something, but it's coming. That will be where I draw a line. You can't wear jeans on a golf course. I'd argue that's the biggest trash move in sports, some things just don't belong together and that's number 1 for me.
It's also not lost on me that as a blogger who is currently wearing sweatpants and a free t-shirt, I can't say anything about fashion and what to wear to work. I'm simply a man who watches golf every week and plays as much as possible. The pants being tied really sells it though. For some reason that sticks out the most.
