Rick Pitino Putting Out A Video Basically Pleading With UK Fans To Give John Calipari A Standing Ovation Is The Most Bizarre Part Of This Whole Saga

What the fuck is happening? There has never been a time where booing a coach was such a controversial topic. This is why everyone who says 'no one outside of Kentucky fans care about this game' are dumb as shit. We have people on TV talking about booing Calipari, people all across the sport talking about it and now a man who is coaching a team in line to win the Big East and make the NCAA Tournament bring it up!

That said, incredible job by Rick Pitino to bring up his own story. That's just main character syndrome to the best and exactly what I want from our (current?) future basketball GM. Also, when the hell did everyone get so soft about booing a coach? People get booed every single game! In fact UConn got booed by their own fans last night!

I can't stress this enough. John Calipari is trying to beat Kentucky. He should be treated as such. When he retires and comes back to Rupp Arena, he will get his standing ovation and thanks for the 2012 title and run he had. Saturday is not that day. Saturday is war. You don't clap for your opponent, you try to ruin them. That's why I think Rick Pitino broke out this hostage-style video. He knows Kentucky fans won't listen to him, so now he's making it louder to help Mark Pope - his captain, as he always points out. Smart move by Rick if we're being honest. He's working his way back into Kentucky lore and this is the next step.

I can't believe we're at this point. I can't believe we have Rick Pitino saying Kentucky fans should cheer for John Calipari. We've left normal times. This is the most bizarre part of this whole, dumb saga.
