Trevor Bauer Was Asked If He Could Still Get MLB Hitters Out And He Humbly Responded There Are Only 20 Hitters On The Planet Who Are Competition For Him

Yesterday was a fun day on the internet and it was all thanks to Trevor Bauer. It all started with a tweet from Dan Clark, who is himself a joke of a Twitter character in the baseball world. These two interacting on social media is a real treat. Anyways, Bauer called himself the second most popular pitcher in the world today. Paul Skenes? Gerrit Cole? Why am I naming people trying to figure this out?!? This isn't even the good part, but we gotta get there first. What a statement!

Bauer then responded to this fella named Joe who asked a very fair question. Can he still get MLB hitters out? I mean this guy hasn't pitched in the big leagues since 2021. All we've seen are highlights from his games in Mexico and Japan. Bauer's response to this fair question was well thought out and reasonable. He said there are only 20 hitters on the planet who are a true competition for him.
Chipper Jones caught this one and couldn't resist.
Someone said he'd be the Braves number 3 starter (a tweet now deleted) to which Chipper responded Bauer would be their number 3 on the Triple A team.
What followed was an avalanche on Twitter of highlights of some obscure names hitting bombs off Bauer. Now big name pitchers get beat by inferior hitters all the time in baseball. If you make a bad enough mistake, any hitter can make you pay. It's just hilarious hearing from a guy who hasn't pitched in the bigs in four years that he can still dominate everyone in the league aside from twenty guys. Just type Trevor Bauer into Twitter and all you get is no names hitting nukes off of him.

Let's remind ourselves that MARTY MUSH was seen roping balls off of him not too long ago. Bauer low key became furious when Marty beat him here.
The last thing I need is Mush thinking he's good enough to be in the top 20 of all hitters on the planet.
There was also this European high school league, albeit this doesn't seem like he was trying at all. Still funny.
Bauer later said MLB has robbed him of 400 MILLION DOLLARS. So he would have made more money than Gerrit Cole? He would have nearly doubled what Max Fried or Corbin Burnes got this offseason? Not entirely sure GMs would agree.
Listen, has Bauer gotten the short end of the stick with his career and how it played out? There are plenty of bad people in the league so to think he should have gotten black-balled from the sport seems a bit much, but that's not what we're debating here. Dude thinks he's the second most popular pitcher in the league, has everyone's number besides 20 hitters, and has been robbed of nearly half a billion dollars. I strive to become this delusional one day.
