Does Anyone Want to Coach the New Orleans Saints?!?!?!?
31 of the 32 NFL Head Coaching jobs are now filled and only one remains open.... the New Orleans Saints.
But does anybody want this job?
Former Saints DB and DBs Coach Aaron Glenn declined to even take an interview opting to for the NY Jets job instead. And let's be honest, that is not an attractive job either.
The Saints then turned their attention to former assistant and Bills OC Joe Brady and then he said no to a second interview to stay in Buffalo as OC?!?!?!?
There's no sugarcoating it..... these are horrifying optics when two top choices who had ties to the organization want absolutely nothing to do with this job.
It does not take a rocket scientist to see why. The Saints are in salary cap hell with an aging roster and no solution at the QB position. Derek Carr, Taysom Hill, Cam Jordan, Demario Davis & Tyrann Mathieu count a combined 113 Million AGAINST THE CAP in 2025 and are in the twilight of their careers.
The only redeeming value of the New Orleans job is the Saints are in the NFC South which is easily one of the the worst divisions in football.
So where do the Saints go from here after striking out on Glenn & Brady?
Time to fly to Philly to interview Eagles OC Kellen Moore today as he plans for the Super Bowl in NOLA. Moore blew the Saints away in a Zoom interview apparently and wants to be a head coach.
Other options are former Green Bay/Dallas Coach Mike McCarthy & Commanders OC Kliff Kingsbury. McCarthy ACTUALLY does want the job and that could win it by default.
The Drew Brees/Sean Payton era feels like it was decades ago. ROUGH times in the Big Easy.......
