Ohio State Defensive Coordinator, Jim Knowles, Is Leaving To Take The Exact Same Position At Penn State

So Jim Knowles is leaving Ohio State to become the Defensive Coordinator at Penn State. Let me be very clear: fuck this guy. He's a great coach, don't get me wrong. Probably the best defensive coordinator in the entire country. But for him, on the day of the National Championship celebration in Columbus, to skip the parade to go take another job? In the same conference? As a lateral move? No wait, it's not a lateral move. It's a downgrade. I don't give a fuck about the money, which is being reported as $3.1 million a year. 

Irrelevant. The fact of the matter is Ohio State had an offer on the table to make him the highest paid Defensive Coordinator of all time. And he turned it down to take an offer at Penn State. Fuck him. And it'd be one thing if he decided he wanted to take another stab at being a Head Coach. Fine. Or even if the rumors were true that he wanted to take the DC position at Oklahoma because his fiancé lives there. Dumb career decision, but if that's what's best for the personal life, I guess I kinda get it. But nope, he's heading to College Station. There had to have been beef on this coaching staff and I need to know what it was. Because this move makes zero fucking sense. Don't tell me it's because he's from Philly because that's bullshit and you know it. He has ZERO ties to Penn State. Never played there, never coached there. He is choosing to go there because he thinks he's got it better there. But guess what you dumb fuck, you're coming to Ohio Stadium next year, and I can't wait until Jeremiah Smith runs wild on your defense. 

As for who our replacement is going to be, my short list is simple. If I were Ryan Day, the first two calls before inquiring about anyone else would go to:

- Mike Vrabel

- Luke Fickell

People are going to be up in arms about those choices, citing unrealistic ideas, but I just want to hear them say No before moving forward. From there, we'll take our pick of the litter. I honestly still think there's like a 5% chance Knowles wakes up from this drunken move he's made and comes crying back. Penn State??? We've beaten them 8 straight times. TRAITOR. LOSER. DUMB ASS.
