The First Trailer For Netflix's New Olympics Documentary "Court Of Gold" Is Out And It Looks Incredible

By now, it's not exactly a secret around these parts that I am a gigantic slut for pretty much any type of basketball documentary. I don't care what the subject is or who the documentary follows, as long as you give me some awesome behind the scenes moments and peel the curtain back for the rest of us normal people, I am IN.

Back in August, Netflix put out the news that in 2025 we were going to be blessed with a documentary following Team USA during their Olympic journey.

Given what an awesome run it was on their way to Gold, if you're telling me you're going to show me something that has never seen before, you sure as shit better deliver. We'll probably never have a situation like what took place this past summer again in terms of Team USA turning into their own version of the Basketball Avengers, so if you're going to make a doc about them then you need to deliver the goods.

Well, we now have our first look at this documentary whichis scheduled to be released next month, and once again it looks like Netflix has brought the goods

Look, I'm willing to put my annoyance with Steve Kerr and everything that happened between Team USA and Jayson Tatum/Jaylen Brown to the side for however long that documentary is. At the end of the day, winning Gold is what mattered most and it's not like Team USA's Olympic run didn't give us incredible moments. LeBron's takeover, Steph's Golden Dagger, competitive games etc. I actually think all of that makes for an even more interesting documentary. Sure it would have been fun if Team USA whooped everyone's ass by 40 every game, but that would make for a bit of a boring doc. I'd watch it of course, but given their "struggles" at times, the big name player from the rest of the world, the insane performances, the drama, this all has the makings of a 10/10 documentary, and based on the clips we have so far that's exactly what we have.

I know it can get annoying that every athlete now has a podcast and everyone seems to be putting out their own documentaries and whatnot, but personally I can't get enough. The "hot take" bullshit is annoying, but the content that gives us an inside look at all this stuff is something I find fascinating and makes me happy we live in a world where this type of content has now become the norm. The access alone makes it worth it.

Plus, it gives us another reason to relive Steph Curry going nuclear, which for my money is certainly a great way to spend a few hours
