'Losing Is The Worst' - Mark Pope Correctly Sums Up Life As A Kentucky Coach, Exactly Why I'm Not Worried One Bit About This Team

Let me be very clear. Losing is the worst. Losing at home fucking sucks (even though Pope doesn't talk like that). But this is why I am not worried about this team. Not one iota. Mark Pope sums up life as a Kentucky coach. Every loss is basically the end of the world to us. We don't handle losing well, good, it's why I love the lunatics in my fanbase. Undefeated every single season is the only way to live life.

But you know what? We lost. We played like shit quite frankly. We made some shots and scored, but we didn't play well. Not to mention we're hurt. No excuses like Mark Pope says, but my God, just put everyone in a bubble this week off. I'm not going to overreact because the refs became the show in the second half and we had to deal with foul trouble as Andrew Carr could barely walk. I'm not going to overreact because Lamont Butler had 2 bad decisions late in the game, that's uncommon.

Instead, I trust Mark Pope. Why not? The dude has Kentucky looking the part and we're not even through year 1 yet. In years past I'd panic because I wouldn't expect any change. I wouldn't expect any adjustments or figuring out how to fix the defense. See: last year. I could sit here and tell you how the SEC is going to be a war every single game. But we don't lose at home. Mark Pope knows that's unacceptable no matter what.

Now we get a week. A week to get healthy, a week for Coach Mark Pope to figure shit out. Get these guys practicing everything on defense, I don't care if it's junk or not. Losing is the worst.
