This Is Lamar Jackson's Time: Stats And Trends For The NFL Divisional Round

Welcome back to the Stats Lab. We've arrived at probably the greatest weekend of football of the year. The 8 best teams in football battling it out for a chance to reach the Conference Championships. 

Below is my entire cheat sheet I used for Advisors this week. Lines courtesy of the Draftkings Sportsbook, subject to change from the time I compiled this (Wednesday morning). This is our last episode of the year, so lets finish the season with a winning record.

LW: 2-4

Houston Texans (11-7, 8-8-2 ATS) @ Kansas City Chiefs (15-2, 8-9 ATS)

4:30 PM on ESPN

I've got a couple of plays here. First off, the Texans are 14-4 ATS in the first half this season, and CJ Stroud is 26-9 ATS in the first half in his career. The Chiefs A-Team hasn't played in over three weeks so they may be rusty out of the gate. The first half line is HOU +5.5. And also, I say it every year, but I just love betting on Mahomes rushing yards in the playoffs. It just feels like he scrambles more and the stats back that up. Mahomes averages 20 rushing YPG during the regular season, but goes up to 29 rushing YPG during the playoffs. Line is 23.5. 

The Stats Say: Texans 1H +5.5 and Mahomes over 23.5 rushing yards

Washington Commanders (13-5, 11-6-1 ATS) @ Detroit Lions (15-2, 11-5 ATS)

8:00 PM on FOX

This feels like a game where a lot of people are going to be on the hot Commanders, but the Lions remind everyone why they are 15-2. Over their past 17 games on extra rest, the Lions are 14-3 ATS. And this will be the Commanders 3rd straight road game. Teams in that spot have covered just 5 of the last 16.

Los Angeles Rams (11-7, 10-8 ATS) @ Philadelphia Eagles (15-3, 12-6 ATS)

With the win on Monday, Stafford and McVay are now 16-6 ATS together in December or later. And don't worry about the short week, Sean McVay has covered 12 of his last 14 games playing on short rest.

Baltimore Ravens (13-5, 11-6-1 ATS) @ Buffalo Bills (14-4, 11-7 ATS)

Lamar Jackson is an insane 18-3 ATS as a favorite of less than 3 points or as an underdog. He's also 18-8 ATS in night games in his career. Now full disclosure, I have multiple Draftkings futures on the Ravens to win the Super Bowl, but I truly believe this is the year Lamar finally gets it done.
