MORE FOOTBALL: Roger Goodell Shockingly Declares The 'Next Logical Step' Is For The NFL To Have 18 Regular Season Games

Hell, why not go 20 regular season games and no preseason? Treat the first couple games as preseason games just with real results? I don't see why we'd stop at 18. If Goodell is going to keep saying it's logical to keep it in a 20-week schedule, just make every game matter. We don't get preseason in college football, we have the spring game and that's it. We already know the last week will likely suck outside of a game or two for the playoffs, guys sitting, but we don't care. The NFL and football owns our brains. We see it on TV, we watch. It's really that simple. 

I know the logical mind will say something about player safety. Good luck arguing that after we just watched teams go 3 games in 11 days. Good luck arguing that when we have Thursday Night Football, short weeks, playing in other countries across the world and the MetLife turf. You know what Goodell and the NFL care about more? Money. That's what 18 weeks of a regular season gets you. 

Now if we're going to start messing with the schedule let's be smart about it. I can see the players demanding a 2nd bye week. Fine. But make the Super Bowl the day before President's Day. Companies across the country already give a holiday that day. Bully the rest of them into it - except here at Barstool Sports. I don't want any days off. I'm completely cool with the Super Bowl on Sunday. The NFL is played on Sunday (mostly, sometimes Monday or Thursday or Friday or Saturday and even a Wednesday). It's just right to have Super Bowl Sunday. Then let's make sure we start balancing the schedule. Can't be loading up on 1pm games and have 3 dogshit 4pm games. Yeah, we know the Cardinals will be playing in the 4pm window and how that game goes. 

We know it's coming. We all saw the jump to 17 games and just went okay, that's the new normal. Same will happen when it's 18 games. Just fix the rest of the schedule, that's the stuff that really matters. You already have us by the balls for everything else.
