Charles Huff Says Players' Biggest Locker Room Issue This Year Was 'College Football 25' Ratings
In an era where some college football players are making more than their professional counterparts and guys change schools with the wind, it's nice to hear that the biggest issue in at least one locker room this season was video game rankings. The return of the artist formerly known as NCAA Football has seemingly brought with it the remnants of a simpler time.
I totally understand why guys across the country would be upset with their rankings on the game, because truthfully, EA Sports didn't do an incredible job once they got past the first 100 players or so. Obviously, schools like Marshall were going to get the shortest end of the stick because there probably just weren't too many people at EA who were familiar with guys like Mike Green, who ended up leading the country in sacks and tackles for loss — and is now the 53rd-best player in the game at a 92 overall.
I do love that there were players complaining to coaches about their ratings on a video game, though. What was Charles Huff supposed to do about that? I would say that's at least a more enjoyable conversation for a coach these days than a player coming in and demanding more money, but it does have to call into question some things about that player mentally.
Regardless, I'm glad we have this game back and the players are clearly treating it with the reverence it deserves. Go out on the field and ball so you can get those ratings up in the next update.
