The Last 2 Weeks Were A Good Reminder That The Vikings Will Never Win When It Matters Because They Are The Most Cursed Franchise In The NFL
I know Jets fans will want to claim they are the most tortured fanbase. Incorrect. You guys don't have hope. Same goes for the Browns. Those are franchises who just stink and will always stink, which is different than cursed and tortured. The Bills can argue about the 4 straight Super Bowl losses. I'll listen to that, the counterpoint being you at least made it there. Then you have the Vikings. The oldest franchise in sports to never win a championship. It's not even just that, it's how they lose too.
Remember Blair Walsh?
Remember losing 41-0 to Kerry Collins and the Giants in the NFC title game? Remember Gary Anderson missing a field goal for the first time in 2 years:
How about the BountyGate NFC title game? Of course that involved the Vikings. Now you can add a 14-win team, who lost the division in the last week of the regular season and then lost before the divisional round. First team to ever not make the divisional round while winning 14 games. Pretty good!
Let's add some more sad stats:
Now, I know people can say it's a miracle they won 14 games this year. Correct. That's why Kevin O'Connell should be Coach of the Year. He found a miracle in Sam Darnold for a year, who then cost himself some money the last couple of weeks. But looking at the Vikings as a whole, they've had too much talent to never win a Super Bowl, let alone not make one since 1976. This whole season started with top-10 pick JJ McCarthy getting hurt and missing the year. I don't think anything can sum up the Vikings like QB1 getting hurt, finding a Sam Darnold to keep you alive, win a bunch of games and then get absolutely exposed in the 2 biggest games of the year. But even last night. These plays, how the hell do they not go the Vikings way?

Again, there's a difference in bad organizations to tortured and cursed. The only tortured and cursed franchises in the NFL are the Vikings and Bills. Good enough to win games. Good enough to get into the playoffs. Then get your heart ripped out. That's Minnesota sports right there.
