'It's Like They Make Moves Off Twitter' - We Finally Got Our Report About How The Giants Have No Idea How To Operate, Everyone Has A 'Lack Of Trust'

[Source] - The Giants seemed convinced Ezeudu was primarily a tackle and played him there all spring and summer. When Thomas went down, it was Ezeudu who started the next game in a blowout loss to the Philadelphia Eagles and struggled in the first half. He played better in the second half, but the Giants quickly pivoted and benched him the following week for Chris Hubbard, a veteran who also wasn't a natural left tackle and had been claimed off the 49ers' practice squad 10 days earlier.

None of it worked. The Giants moved Ezeudu back to guard in Week 18.

"It's like they make moves off Twitter," a league source with knowledge of the Giants' inner workings told ESPN.

It was only a matter of time before we got our own Giants report. We had the Pats one recently that Jerry covered:

I like Jordan and he does a good job detailing everything that's going wrong with this franchise, for the most part. The most damning ones were they make moves like it's off Twitter and then this. Distrust:

It speaks to a bigger problem that was conveyed to ESPN by the players and coaches interviewed. There was a lack of trust between the team and players -- one defensive player went so far as to describe it as "distrust." It's an issue Schoen and Daboll will have to mend as they move forward.

The catalyst was a gap in communication. More than a handful of players spoke of being misled and left to dangle in the wind on issues, including their roles changing or snaps dwindling, without sufficient explanation

Christ almighty. It's important to note that Jordan mentions the players weren't upset that Daboll was retained. They seem to like him, for the most part. But what is going on here? I mean, I'm not surprised, because the Giants have been a shitshow since Tom Coughlin left. Even that was handled wrong! Remember this?

God bless that two time Super Bowl winner. He made John Mara look competent strictly because of him and Eli and the defense and Plaxico and Jake Boss and Kevin Ballard and Victor Cruz and everyone else. But that's the past and we're now stuck in this hell. That source isn't wrong about the Giants seemingly operating like they just look at Twitter. It's always a couple weeks too late, it's always a step late. I just wish they looked at Twitter when we begged them not to give Daniel Jones an extension and just franchise tag him.

But the most damning is that distrust statement. You're going into a year where there has to be success in order to keep your job. I have no idea how we get success. There's too many holes in this roster where catching luck like the Vikings did with Sam Darnold or drafting someone like Jayden Daniels can save this franchise for a year. But that distrust is out there now. You don't think players talk or know about this? Have fun with that.

All I know is this franchise is a fucking disaster. John Mara is giving them a year but saying he's running out of patience. Mind you, he fucking sucks. Joe Schoen is all over the damn place. Brian Daboll is trying to win without a quarterback and seems handcuffed. I still think Daboll is fine as a coach, he's just stuck with a moron owner and not good players. Not exactly the best combo. The sad thing? This ain't ending any time soon. People will rotate in and out from players to front office to coaching staff and it'll end up with reports like this.
