Justin Baldoni's Attorney Is Now Alleging That Nicepool In 'Deadpool & Wolverine' Might've Been Based On The 'It Ends With Us' Star

NY Post- “It Ends With Us” director and star Justin Baldoni is now seemingly in a public tiff with Blake Lively’s husband, Ryan Reynolds. During an interview with Megyn Kelly on Tuesday, Baldoni’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, slammed “The Green Lantern” star, 48.

The alleged insult was in a viral deleted scene from Reynolds’ movie “Deadpool & Wolverine.” In the clip, Reynolds has a man bun, the hairstyle Baldoni wore for decades until 2023, and he is “Nicepool.”

“Oh my goodness, wait til you’ve seen Ladypool,” the supposed “Nicepool” says in the clip. “She is gorgeous. She just had a baby too, and [you] can’t even tell.” When Reynolds — as Deadpool — said that Nicepool wasn’t “supposed to say that,” the character replied, “That’s OK. I identify as a feminist.”

He added, “I’d be fighting alongside you, but my calling is to one day start a podcast that monetizes the women’s movement.” Baldoni had a podcast called “The Man Enough Podcast,” which purports to explore “what it means to be a man today and how rigid gender roles have affected all people.”

Oh boy. I tried to steer clear of this drama and keep my hands clean of it, but they've gone and dragged Deadpool into the mix - and that's where I draw the line.

If you haven't been following this whole thing, I don't blame you. KenJac has been covering it HERE, HERE, and HERE if you want to catch up.

Apparently, the latest in the Justin Baldoni/Blake Lively feud is Baldoni's attorney claiming that the character 'Nicepool' in 'Deadpool & Wolverine' essentially existed to make fun of Baldoni. He claims there were insults directed at the 'This Ends With Us' director featured in the below scene, where Nicepool comments on Ladypool's weight post-pregnancy (something Baldoni allegedly did to Lively) and jokes about being a feminist "monetizing the women's movement"….

Some of these jokes wound up being cut from the final film, but the man-bun and nice guy attitude stuck around, and were apparently OVER THE LINE according to Baldoni's attorney. Too personal I guess. Shots like that cut deeeeep.

I don't really know who to believe in this whole he-said-she-said, and it seems like both sides might've been in the wrong at some point - but I think Baldoni's lawyer might've fucked him and hit him with a Streisand effect here. I never even considered Nicepool was a parody of him, neither pre or post the scandal breaking! Now I won't be able to get that out of my head every time I watch the movie! And honestly - it may make the whole thing funnier!

If even a fraction of what they're claiming Baldoni did/said is true, he's a huge scumbag and a pervert. If he was making weird comments about Lively's weight right after she had a baby and Ryan Reynolds decided to subtly work that douchebaggery into a 'Deadpool & Wolverine' joke - well so be it! I've got no sympathy for the guy! If he DIDN'T make those weird comments - this over-the-top defense comes off as weirdly specific and guilty as hell.

I guess we'll have to wait for the whole lawsuit to shake out to really judge this one, but anyone who wrote books titled 'Man Enough: Undefining My Masculinity' and 'Boys Will Be Human' gives off major red flags in my mind.
