Louisiana Mayor Arrested for the 'Crime' of Using Taxpayer Money To Rent an AirBnB To Use for Sex With a Prostitute

Daily Mail — A Louisiana mayor was arrested Tuesday for allegedly hiring a prostitute and using taxpayer money to rent and Airbnb for the sex worker to visit.

Bogalusa Mayor Tyrin Truong, 25, was charged with soliciting prostitutes and transactions involving proceeds from drug offenses, among other charges, according to the state police.

Truong  'organized entertainment with a prostitute' at an Airbnb that he rented with public funds while at a mayor's conference in Atlanta, according to Northshore District Attorney Collin Sims.

I'm increasingly wondering how easy it is to become the mayor of most cities in America. Obviously we all hear about the guys like Brandon Johnson who make mockeries of our country's largest cities, but there are thousands of towns with mayors just like this 25-year-old who was using taxpayer money to fuck prostitutes — or Dolton, Illinois legend Tiffany Henyard. We just don't hear about them as often until they do something ridiculous.

I'm not overly familiar with Bogalusa, Louisiana, but it sounds to me like the kind of place where the mayor having a prostitute or two isn't overly scrutinized as long as it isn't being funded by the town's taxpayers. I know this mayor isn't going to have a wealth of knowledge age of 25, but "not using government money that's tracked to have sex with prostitutes" seems like a no-brainer regardless of your level of experience.

I hope Mayor Truong put this case behind him and runs for office again. The people of Bogalusa appointed him as their voice once and I have to imagine this minor setback and redemption arc will only make him more endearing going forward.
