Re-do The Golden Globes And Give Jerry Jones An Award For His Guest Spot On Landman
I'm not a Cowboys fan and I keep up with Jerry Jones inasmuch as I'm 40 so I vividly remember when the Cowboys were actually a good team in the 90s. Seemingly, Jerry Jones does extreme wealth properly. Once you conquer the business world the best thing a super rich person can do is buy a pro sports franchise. If you have the means, I'd advise you to do just that. It gives you somewhere to go every day and adds purpose to your life, especially when you win. Since Troy Aikman has been in the booth the Cowboys haven't won diddly poo so I guess that's when you go looking for other endeavors to occupy your time.
Too often, rich people get involved where they shouldn't. I've long said I don't trust politicians with massive financial cushions which is to say I trust any politicians at all. However, when you're super rich and also super famous, there is another itch you can scratch if you know the right people and that's acting.
The one thing that always sticks out when rich people try acting is that it makes you appreciate how talented actual actors are in their roles. Rich people mostly stink at acting and are noticeably awkward. Before last night's episode of Landman, that held true for Jerry Jones. Consider his arc on Season 7 of Entourage:
It's painfully uncomfortable watching Jerry try to go toe-to-toe with an Emmy award winning actor in Piven.
I guess someone told him though and he made his way to acting school because his spot on Landman was pitch perfect.
That was honest, raw, filled with emotion, and delivered in such a way that made you truly believe the lines he was delivering. Fighting back (real?) tears. Good timing. In the same room as Billy Bob Thornton AND Jon Hamm. Come on.

Perhaps it was because it was (mostly from what I understand) true and he was basically just telling his own story, but I was impressed. That was not the man we saw on Entourage mispronouncing Ari's name. That was an award winning performance by all accounts. Not to mention, that was a lengthy monologue to get through!
Anyway, now that the Cowboys stink every year maybe he can pursue a true passion to see if he can have some success again.
