Dudes Rock: A Girl Discovered Her Uncle Who Passed Away Saved Every One Of His Golf Scorecards And Had An Excel Sheet Breaking Down His Play
Feel awful for this girl losing her uncle. Always felt like uncles were the sitcom characters of our lives. Everyone has one who's a little crazy, another who's very funny, another who can get you a deal on stuff, another who gives you life advice, and some that just straight up break balls nonstop. I remember meeting a friends uncle at a party one time and we were lining up to play beer pong and my friend said "Hey Uncle Jimmy did you play beer pong in college?" To which he didn't miss a beat, took a puff of his cigarette made a ramming gesture with his arm over his fist and said "No we were getting laid in college." All timer.
So while this is a sad beginning, I couldn't help but smile when she showed all the bins and then finally the binder of the scores. Just an all time dudes rock moment. The dedication to save every single one of your scorecards is awesome. It also requires such dedication that should be reveled. This guy was saving cards forever, likely as a kid. Good rounds, bad rounds, and everything in between. It's also awesome he could look back at the cards see the other names on the scorecards and reflect fondly on the relatives and friends he played that day with. Maybe he even remembers a funny story from that day, or a great shot he or they hit. Another reason why sports is such a terrific thing, and bonds us all together. Amazing story and a guy that seems like someone you would want to tee it up on a Par 4 and have a beer with. Dudes rock. Some things are bigger than sports.
