A Botched Tank Job, Clueless Ownership, No Hope - The Most Miserable Season In Giants History Is Finally Over
At least these assholes didn't win again. That's about all I have to say about this game. This was the most miserable season in Giants history. I don't care if they won 1 game in the 60s or went 2-12 in 1974. I wasn't alive and frankly they don't count in my book for misery. This season though? The worst experience I've ever had as a Giants fan. Just pure apathy from week 1, no hope, nothing good (besides Dru Phillips, Malik Nabers and Tyrone Tracy). Hell, we couldn't even suck right! We had the number 1 pick in our hands and decided to beat the Colts and Drew Lock turn into Super Bowl Eli. Now it looks like this:
Not that it matters. Draft a quarterback, draft Travis Hunter and sign a vet QB, draft anyone and keep some sorry ass quarterback to tank for another Manning. None of it matters right now. How can any Giants fan feel any different? Like I said, where is the hope? That's what this franchise stole from us as fans. There's no 'oh we just need a quarterback or this piece away'. The line is atrocious, no one knows what the hell is happening with Schoen and Daboll, there is no quarterback, they still can't score, the defense still sucks. We still have John Mara being an asshole running the team and hiring yes men and family members before promoting them. There's no plan. There's no one smart in the building to tell Mara to fuck off.
At least it's over. Now comes the part of trying to care again. Let me clarify, I'll always care, but the feeling of living and dying each week with the team. The feeling of thinking there's a chance the Giants will matter again. That's all lost. How could it not be? They've fucked up nearly every decision (besides this past draft, the rookies were fine) in recent memory. The whole Daniel Jones saga, the Saquon business, deciding who to spend money on and that's before all the missed picks whether it was Gettleman or Schoen. Just pathetic.
