An Iconic Moment: People Watching 'Landman' Are Apparently Now Figuring Out That Ali Larter Invented The Whipped Cream Bikini In 'Varsity Blues'

I'll be honest right off the bat and say I haven't been watching Landman. It's college basketball season and there's not a shot in hell I'll miss a Northern Kentucky/Wright State game to watch a show. How my brain operates. But, I've been in this business long enough to know that 1) pageviews and 2) I do know Varsity Blues. So when I saw this article that said this, I stopped in my tracks:

[Source] - Evidently, when Ali Larter has popped up on screen in Landman, it has caused certain viewers to do a little extra research. You know… to really get to know the actress behind the character. Some fans of the show have since discovered that Larter is the same actress that had the iconic whipped cream bikini scene in the 1999 film Varsity Blues.

Excuse me? People are now just finding out or realizing that Ali Larter is in one of the most iconic moments in mankind? I'm an old, that scene shaped a large part of growing up. It made me want to like whipped cream and now, even at 37, if you see whipped cream, you think Ali Larter. This is what people are just now realizing:

It might be the 1.1 moment in movie history for us around the same age. It had me debate internally about wanting to play football. I still passed on playing, I saw the recruiting scene in He Got Game and knew basketball was the right option. But it's the 1.1 movie scene. Nothing else comes to mind when it comes to food and movies outside of maybe apple pie for the wrong reasons.

I want to know these people who are just realizing that Ali Larter is Darcy Sears. How many people are just now going back and watching Varsity Blues for the first time? I'm actually jealous they get to experience that movie for the first time (RIP Paul Walker). And now at 48, Ali Larter is still stealing the show based in Texas.
