The Costco Guys And The Rizzler Just Brought The BOOM To AEW

What a moment. What a world.

"Big Boom" AJ made his long awaited return to professional wrestling tonight, debuting in AEW on the Full Gear pre-show with Big Justice and The Rizzler in his corner - and honestly, it was pretty fucking awesome. Everything about their program with QT Marshall was dumb, but in an extremely self aware, well-done manor. It also helps that AJ was actually a former independent wrestler, who clearly still had the fundamentals down....

The Costco Guys had an entirely new audience watching AEW tonight, considering their millions of followers across social media, and they had the crowd in Newark going wild to kick the show off. I mean, the fucking Rizzler got a huge pop when he came out as the special guest timekeeper. That's an outrageous sentence to type out but it's true!

Once the match started, everyone was in the palm of their hands, and they put on a totally respectable contest for the people. BIG shoutout to QT Marshall for obviously carrying AJ through his first match in 15-20 years, and for coming up with this program in the first place. That's a guy who just gets it right there. He knows exactly what his role is and how to play the perfect hatable heel. Look at the way he sold the spear from Big Justice (at the top of this blog) for example, or even this superplex spot….

That's a pro's pro right there. Major respect.

Anyway - I just wanted to shout this out and blog it because as absurd a concept as it is, they knocked it outta the park tonight, and they deserve some flowers double chunk chocolate cookies for that. I know AJ said this would be his final match, but Tony Khan may have to back up the Brinks truck for more Costco Guys. They might just be the real "Bidding War of 2024" we heard so much about!
