A French Gamer Challenged a Billionaire Business Owner to a 1v1 Call of Duty Match, Proceeds to Cower Frenchly When He Accepts The Challenge

Dexerto - A billionaire businessman who chairs a major internet company actually showed up to a “1v1” outside a supermarket, after a Call of Duty player called them out on social media.

Xavier Niel, founder of telecoms company Illiad, shocked the X/Twitter user who challenged him, by actually turning up outside a LIDL supermarket in Marseille, France.

The French internet company mogul is the chairman and majority shareholder of Illiad, one of the biggest Telecommunications companies in the world, based in Paris.

When Call of Duty player “JimmyBLLT” sent out a post on X calling out Niel, he never would have expected a response.

“Xavier Niel I hate you and I propose a 1v1 in front of the Lidl on rue Sainte in Marseille,” the CoD player said. But, he got much more than just a simple response. 

Xavier took his offer seriously, and indeed showed up at the location suggested, taking a picture to confirm he wasn’t joking. He captioned it “I’m waiting.”

This story is a truly shocking display of cowardice. Even for the French.

But as I understand it, this nobody of a Call of Duty player (Twitter user @JimmyBLLT) was sick and tired of dealing with lag when playing Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. So he took things cstraight to the top. He tweeted at billionaire owner of Lidl, Xavier Niel, who is apparently the man responsible for lag. 

This was back in May. But I guess Xavier sat stewing on that one tweet from @JimmyBLLT. Who has 196 followers. And finally, last Friday, Xavier Niel gave this kid exactly what he asked for. He showed up outside of the Lidl on rue Sainte a Marseille and accepted his challenge.

This was his moment. He had an audience with a billionaire who was willing to play him 1v1 in Call of Duty. What might actually come of that? No idea. But when you challenge a billionaire to a Call of Duty-off, and the billionaire actually shows up, that's a huge moment for you. Any time you have the attention of a billionaire who wants to meet you in person, it's probably a good idea to take advantage of that situation. You have to show up. You never know what might happen. A few hundred grand might just fall out of the guy's pocket.

He was only juggling. Pathetic. To do anything other than drop everything you're doing at that very moment and get to the Lidl on rue Sainte a Marseille is a level of cowardice that can only come from the most timid of French gamers. But even still… Xavier the billionaire wouldn't let it rest. He gave him another chance. He wasn't just going to let this kid squander the opportunity so easily.

All that linguistically translates to, “Where are you? Come on! Do you want to meet in the car park?”

Which in reality translate to, "Are you fucking serious kid. I am literally right here. You asked for this. Are you really just going to sit at home juggling while I'm giving you exactly what you wanted? You can't be that stupid. If you come right now I will still be here."

And when you thought this yellow-bellied Call of Duty player couldn't get any sadder… when you thought maybe he'd realize how stupid he was being and actually get his ass to Lidl, where a billionaire is begging for his presence… he responds with this this…

I don't know if @JimmyBLLT has seen one too many French mafia movies (if those exist), and thinks if he shows up that Xavier Niel will make his permanently disappear. That he'd be greeted by a bunch of goons waiting to beat him senseless with stale baguettes. Or a bunch of mimes would appear from the shadows and make hurtful gestures at him. Idk what French gangs do to intimidate people. But to not show up for the challenge you issued yourself is a level of cowardice I didn't think existed. My god kid.

As I said earlier, the morale of this story here is that when you have a man worth USD $7 billion, and he is BEGGING to meet with you, you put everything on hold and go play him 1v1 in Call of Duty outside the Lidl on rue Sainte a Marseille.
