Matt Eberflus Passed Marty Mornhinweg In One Of The Saddest Coaching Stats Ever

Well. I did it. I found the perfect coaching comp to Matt Eberflus. It's a coach so bad I'm pretty sure most Lions fans forgot all about him. Good ole Marty Mornhinweg of the Lions from 2001 all the way to 2002.

0-16 on the road on Sunday was Marty. A stunning record that has now been surpassed by Matt Eberflus just eight days ago and now stands at 0-18. This is simply stunning. Poor Marty had Charlie Batch and Joey Harrington throwing to guys like Johnny Morton, Larry Foster, and Bill Schroeder. Good grief. Maybe 0-16 wasn't even that bad all things considered.

But look at what this pile of pud has in Chicago. DJ Moore. Keenan Allen. A stud rookie wide receiver and stud tight end. Oh yeah - and a prospect quarterback of the decade being ruined like milk left on the surface of the sun. Now let's be fair for a moment here. Eberflus has won three road games. They just didn't play those games on Sunday. That's right, he beat Bailey Zappe, Joshua Dobbs, and Sam Howell.

But you know what? I'm going to call my shot here. I know the Bears never fire a coach during the season. But even we've never had a guy that was so obviously not capable of carrying out even the most remedial tasks required of this position. So by the time this thing is even posted - I expect this to be common knowledge:

The Bears never do this. Ever. But if Ryan Poles really is different - he'll know he needs to cut his losses. He showed a glimpse of being able to make the right decision in the face of sunken cost with Chase Claypool. Poles had to know the moment his future quarterback almost get seriously injured while down multiple scores with less than :30 left. Keeping this dolt one more week could ruin next year too.

And look at the length of tenure for the coaches around him on that list. Hugh Jackson is just inexplicable and Mike Nixon was from the 50s so they probably just took a while to get the pink slip delivered via horseback. Everyone else is looking at 2-3 years. What's the point of waiting?

Then again. It already happened, right? He got fired? Just remember, I called it first. Please credit me. Because as you know right now, it happened.

Right?

It happened???

I hate my life.
