Raise The Banner: Dillon Brooks Said The Rockets Shocked The World By Beating The Mavericks ... In The 5th Game Of The Season

Go to the 55 second mark

You know what? I think I love this just because of how asinine it is. We're talking about the 5th game of the season for both teams here. But hey, shock the world over an October regular season win. We all know that's how you do it. Miracle on Ice? Nothing compared to this. Don't even bring up UMBC over Virginia or FDU over Purdue. Absolute nonsense putting that in the same sentence as Rockets 108, Mavs 102 on October 31, 2024. It's a win we'll all be talking about for years. Well, at least Dillon Brooks will be:

Basically if you're going to make a statement, go so over the top that it's the Costanza it's only a lie if you don't believe it mentality. I firmly believe Dillon Brooks thinks the Rockets shocked the world. Sure, they were underdogs, not like insane dogs by any stretch, but they were underdogs. Any time you can use that to your advantage you have to go over the top with it. Plus, it's a road game. That's why it's the greatest victory these eyes have ever seen in sports.

I know the Rockets are trying to build something. They are a young team with talent. But come on, you can't be having Dillon Brooks as your spokesman. This is how you get made fun of. You gotta be the quiet team that surprises people. That's how you build something. Plus, you're the Rockets. We've seen you win back-to-back titles in our lifetime. I know it was in the 90s, but can't be going with shock the world in October now.
