50 Episodes In: Reflections on Starting a Podcast and Future

Do me a favor before we start this blog and throw me a sub on YouTube.

Time flies. 50 episodes, 25 weeks I've been pumping this out. This blog is going to be about the journey. I mean I know what it looks like from the outside. I went from being on 2 huge podcasts to none and having to start from scratch to create one that is infinitely smaller. But in that time I honestly have learned a lot. Do I have regrets, yeah but I feel the lessons derived from them have boundless value. Sometimes to truly understand a situation you were in you have to be removed from it. I honestly appreciate the experiences more from afar. Building something from scratch is an experience I haven't taken for granted. It's just so psychologically gratifying to see it come to life from nothing.

I am going to be honest, have no idea what my future is with Barstool past this year. I'd like to think in the time since leaving PMT I have put out enough content between playing football in Uganda, a failed congressional run, blogging, starting a podcast without resources, and getting it sponsored all while being part-time enough in a contract year. At the same time if it all comes to an end I will understand it. I have a lot going on behind the scenes. Realistically if it isn't, and I get eliminated from this 7 year reality show I probably wouldn't take a job anywhere else in media. I'll probably disappear from the internet. It's been a wild couple of years and I need to figure out my next move. Hell, I might even try to play football again and get a grad degree, still have a COVID and senior year technically. Grind it out somewhere. I am not looking for a pity party but just thinking about wow 50 podcasts where did the time go the show's got a decent consistent listenership for having 0 resources behind it. Please check out the pod and subscribe to it. Legit job depends on it. It's actually a good podcast I wouldn't still be doing it if it wasn't getting positive feedback.
