'Being Rent Free In Their Heads' - Baker Mayfield Made Sure To Take One More Shot At Texas After They Planted A Flag Through His OU Jersey On Saturday

Red River Shootout was Saturday, we all know that, we all saw it. Texas kicked Oklahoma's ass and then for some reason brought out a Baker Mayfield jersey to plant the flag through at midfield. Still doesn't make the most sense in the world. Baker is on his 4th NFL team, hasn't played for Oklahoma since the 2017-18 season. Whatever, still love the move of using a jersey to plant the flag through, it's what rivalries are built on. Now, obviously, Baker had to respond to this:

Still hate the use of rent free but it's at least in the right form here. It's true, Baker Mayfield is a guy from Austin, Texas who went to Oklahoma and beat Texas twice. He talked about it when he was in college, it's all he wanted to do. He had a vendetta against Texas because they didn't recruit him despite playing right next to their campus. He's far from the first or last person to use that sort of vendetta, but few are as in your face as Baker Mayfield. Dude will celebrate anything and everything, part of why he's still good in the NFL.

Again, Texas said they did it because it felt right.

Why not use a recent player or someone on the current team? That seems like the logical choice. Now you have a year of Baker Mayfield planning some sort of revenge. I don't even know when Oklahoma will be even with Texas again, it's a huge gap right now, but Mayfield is going to spend a year working with Oklahoma to get revenge.
