Florida Panthers Coach, Paul Maurice, Sums Up Everything WSD Was Trying To Say About The Bears In 15 Seconds

I fucking LOVE this clip. I think it's the first and only time a coach has instructed his players with "FUCK MAKING PLAYS". This is the reason why the Florida Panthers have bullied their way to back to back Stanley Cup Finals. This is the reason why the Boston Bruins built their entire offseason around trying to better compete with the Florida Panthers. No matter how skilled you are. No matter how fast you are. No matter how smart your game plan is. At the end of the day contact sports like hockey and football are just about making the other quit. Making them submit. As Ryan Whitney said at one point in the last couple of years "the game is still the game". Meaning...buckle your fucking chin strap, hit people, win battles, be fucking tough.

That's why when the Bears get fucking cute with wild cat plays, speed option plays, and traps with Roschon lined up as a fullback, WSD (and myself tbh) get so annoyed. Put Kraemer, the Hinsdale Hammer, in at full back and just run power until you get one fucking yard.

The Bears did a much better job of that in the past couple of games, but you can still tell that maybe there's a little doubt from Waldron in his guys' ability to win up front. Or maybe he wants to look smart (I do think that is a big problem with coaching sometimes. Guys would rather score with razzle dazzle that makes them look brilliant than score with a 30 dive). I don't know, but the best thing the Bears could do for Caleb Williams going forward is get the biggest, meanest, smartest offensive linemen available and pound the rock with two TEs because the NFL now has 225lb linebackers and most teams playing nickel as their base. Run the ball. Get your matchups going on 2nd and 4. Win the super bowl. I hope that is the plan for the future.
