Florida Man Nicknamed "Lieutenant Dan" Offers Sound Reasoning To Why He Won't Be Leaving His 20-Foot Sailboat Ahead Of A Category 5 Hurricane: "Boats Float"

Listen, I don't know the first thing about boats, the water, captains, etc. I can swim but I'd be lying if I told you water that isn't a pool doesn't scare the shit out of me. The only information I know is that from Captain Dave who is brave enough to sail the Nantucket high seas:

I'd ask for a comment from him as a Miami resident and boating expert, but my suspicion is that he'd leave me on read. So all I have to go off of is the knowledge I've gained from him, and I can't tell if Lieutenant Dan is a genius or a madman. I'm inclined to say both, and at the very least, he's a smart man judging by what he said about having no fear, and a woman being the only thing he'd give up his boat for. That's a man who knows what he wants. He almost lost me with the "boats float" comment, but the rest of what he said was justifiably sound.

I'd like to wish Lieutenant Dan a safe storm for both him and his boat, but judging by what he said about God having his 6 and his only fear is waking up broke, he may not even need it. He's the living embodiment of "a captain goes down with his ship", for better or worse. But he's bigger than the seas. If the cameraman was so serious about getting him off the water, the best option is to book a room at a hotel away from the flood zone and let him enjoy his very best life while keeping his boat safe in a warehouse somewhere.

The optimist in me is hoping that the damage caused by this is minimal, especially after seeing stuff like this:

And I hope we get to see a followup video from Lieutenant Dan after the storm passes showing all his belongings in tact and crown him as a legend of the high seas for the rest of time. Stay safe everybody.

P.S. Shoutout to Bussin producer Jack McPherson for an additional Lieutenant Dan video:

Get that man a female for his boat ASAP. And remember, don't do stupid shit and we'll all be alright.
