Former Bad Boy Artist Shyne, Who Served 9 Years In Prison For The Night Club Shooting Involving Diddy And J Lo, Finally Spoke Out And Said Diddy Destroyed His Life (Plus - The Videos Coming Out From Past Diddy Interviews Are Wild)

Yahoo - Shyne Barrow — former Bad Boy signee and Leader of the Opposition in the Belize House of Representatives — is speaking out about his relationship with Sean “Diddy” Combs, amidst the mogul’s recent arrest and federal indictment. And the artist-turned-politician rapper isn’t mincing any words.

If that name sounds familiar, then you may recall that he famously went to jail back in 1999 in connection to a shooting at a New York nightclub he was at with Diddy and the mogul’s then-girlfriend Jennifer Lopez. Three people were injured as a result and though Diddy, his bodyguard and JLo all walked away with no charges, Shyne was convicted on charges of assault, reckless endangerment, and criminal possession of an illegal weapon, and spent nine years in prison. However, during his trial he maintained that he did not shoot anyone, and a witness statement that came out earlier this year seemingly confirmed his version of events. Over the years, many online have also speculated that he was innocent, and took the fall for Diddy.

Now in a new interview with Belizean press on Thursday, he’s speaking his peace in the aftermath of the Bad Boy mogul’s recent legal troubles. He’s making one thing very, very clear: Combs is no friend of his. Shyne spoke to clarify the nature of the relationship he has with his former label boss:

He contributed, he pretty much sent me to prison. So, that is the context by which you must always describe that relationship. Yes, I forgived, I moved on. But let us not pretend as if I was in Miami for Thanksgiving and Christmas...I went again to do a charity for impoverished youth in London. So let us not lose sight of what the cold, hard facts are. This is not someone who I vacationed with, and who—he and I enjoyed this great, intimate relationship of brotherhood. This is someone who destroyed my life and whoI forgave and who I moved on. And for the better interest of Belize, because he was in a position at that time to give scholarships and to maybe invest i would not deny attempting to bring the investment to Belize and to bring the contributions to education to Belize.

I blogged about this a couple months ago when Shyne first commented that he "was the fall guy" in that entire NYC nightclub incident back in 1999.

He basically said he was set up by somebody he thought was his "friend" and mentor, without saying it. And you can read the blog for the details of it, but it's nothing compared to what he said this week.

To refresh everybody's memory, the narrative of that night reads like a sensational media story: a fight breaks out in a VIP section, shots are fired, and amid the chaos, Shyne gets tagged as the shooter, while Diddy and then-girlfriend Jennifer Lopez flee the scene, later facing minor legal repercussions. Diddy went out of his way to hire and pay for Shyne's legal team defense, (sketchy as fuck and how was this not a conflict of interest?), and watched as witnesses who previously testified Diddy had the gun changed their stories mysteriously in court. The woman who suffered most, Natania Reuben, was the shot in face and maintains to this day that it was Combs who fired the gun. She even wants to get the bullet fragments still in her face extracted for tests to prove he was the shooter. (Not sure how that's possible but she's been yelling for this for years.)

The young rapper went away for 9 years (of a 10 year sentence), and J Lo and Diddy got off.

The worst part of it is that after he was finally released, whatever promise Diddy made to him went right out the window. He got dropped from Bad Boy, got fucking DEPORTED from America, sent back to Belize, and had to drop an album on the soon to be defunct Murda Inc.

He's seemed to turn his life around in Belize. He found God in prison, gave up the gangster rapper lifestyle, and is now a prominent politician in Belize that many in his country want to run for president.

But now, the gloves are completely off now with not just Shyne, who publicly admitted that Diddy "destroyed his life", but A LOT of other people with stories to tell too.

I think I've been deemed the default Diddy/Diddler expert now because the amount of shit people are DMing to me on twitter and instagram is crazy. I'm also slated to go on TV with NewsNation this week to discuss Diddy appearing in court (scheduled for Tuesday) so look forward to that. I'm trying my best to go through everything, but the amount of old footage people are digging up online and showcasing, given the new, latest context, is really astoudning. And depressing. Some of this shit is really disgusting and makes you wonder how so many people could have known what was going on, participated, and looked the other way.

Here's a rundown.

We now have video of Diddy being cornered at Park Hyatt New York hotel in midtown Manhattan last week, before he and his crew realized he was fucked.

This old interview of Diddy on the Keenan Ivory Wayans' show with Mike Tyson as guests and Tyson shooing his hand away from his leg definitely plays a lot different now.

Rapper The Game has been very vocal about this beef I hadn't even remembered between Diddy and Drake a few years ago. Diddy was apparently upset that Drake "stole" the "0 to 100" OR the "Started From The Bottom" beat from Diddy and as a result, allegedly, according to The Game, Diddy wanted him punished while he was out in California.

This is just flat out weird and uncomfortable.

Diddy going in to smooch Bono and Bono's reaction are hilarious.

Chris Brown's name has been redacted from the indictment but as this lady pointed out, it seems to definitely be him based on the details they left in.

Day 26. Who? Exactly. This was just one of the dozens of artists, groups, and acts that Diddy signed and then let rot away by never allowing them to produce or release music.

Yikes.

Oh No Lebron…

Can't believe this actually aired back in the day.

I remembered this and that Pat actually blogged this happening here. But Suge Knight tried to tell us back in March that he saw this all coming.

He told Diddy that his life was in danger because of what he knew and had on important people.

This sucks man. I loved Da Band. The show "Making The Band" on MTV was awesome back in the day and Fred was the man.

I don't remember this guy, but this has been all over twitter the past few days too.
