The Buccaneers Are Super Bowl Contenders After The Guttiest Win In Years

The Buccaneers were eight points underdogs going into Detroit, the same site that ended their season last year in the Divisional Round of the Playoffs. It was fairly well deserved. Tampa Bay was beat up. On Offense, they'd be without their starting Right Tackle, Luke Goedeke who played Aidan Hutchinson to a stalemate last year in the regular season. On Defense they'd be without the best Safety in Football, Antoine Winfield Jr., last year's 1st Round Pick, Defensive Tackle Calijah Kancy, their Nickelback Bryce Hall, and more.

The game started off great with the Bucs going up 6-0, but the injury report continued to pile up with Vita Vea being lost for the game in one that DID NOT look good.

The air started to come out of the team. The lead had evaporated and been lost with the Lions pulling ahead 16-13. But then Baker ran for a 1st down and then called his own number on a Quarterback draw from the 11 yard line and everything changed.

The Defense made MULTIPLE stands.

The Bucs are now 2-0 and tied atop the NFC South with the upstart Saints. We'll see if the Eagles can move to 2-0 but with the 49ers loss today and a Seahawks team that barely eeked out a win over the hapless Patriots, the Bucs are firmly in the Super Bowl conversation. They are for real.
