South Carolina Student Gives All-Time Terrible Performance/Pissing Away of $60K During Pat McAfee's Kicking Contest at College Gameday

Less than 10 seconds into that clip you knew things were going to end poorly for ol' Joshua. I'm unclear whether or not College Gameday is pulling these kids out of the crowd the morning of, or if they've been pre-selected. For this kid's sake, I really hope he was a random last second selection. Because the second he put that microphone up to his lips, it became apparent that he was at minimum 12 beers deep. I'm won't accuse Joshua of any additional extracurriculars based on jaw movement, but you if you ever find yourself in a position where you're relying on your athletic ability to win $60K, you really would like to be sober for that.

Based on stereotypes, and the fact that he goes by his full name Joshua, I would hazard a guess that Joshua's family isn't strapped for cash. But I could be wrong. I can't help but picture a pair of sweet old parents, paying tens of thousands of dollars they don't have for their son to attend college. Then from the cloud's he's gifted this opportunity to take a massive financial load off their plate. They sit down around the TV ready to watch little Joshy give it his best shot. Then the moment he pops up on ESPN, they see their drunk ass son yelling awkwardly into the microphone and realize he has zero chance to make the kick and is about to make an ass of himself on live TV.

Sorry Joshua, that was probably harsh. You really weren't that bad. Again, assuming he was picked out of the crowd, I don't know a person in the world who wouldn't be drunk in that situation. At least nobody who I was friend's with in college. I do appreciate him putting forth the effort to be a showman. He wasn't afraid to put his money where his drunk ass mouth was. Insulting the entire kicker population right to the face of the self-appointed king of kickers in Pat McAfee takes some balls. In an alternate universe, maybe he makes that kick then turns around and give McAfee double birds. What a legendary moment that would have been. At least he didn't go down like a bitch.

Instead he went down like a big stupid idiot. In front of God, his family, and Darius Rucker. The shoe flies 100 yards into the crowd. He'll probably be spending the rest of his college football Saturday with one shoe on. I'm still not entirely sure where the ball went. But at least he wasn't boring. He wasn't beaming with charisma or anything. God no. But if you're ESPN and College Gameday, that's probably the ideal contestant. Someone who's will talk mad shit despite not having a snowballs chance in hell of making the kick and forcing them to fork over $60k.

Have a lovely rest of your day, Joshua. Sorry you didn't get that tuition paid for. And look on the bright side, of all 4 people involved in that segment (you, Pat McAfee, Darius Rucker, and Kirk Herbstreit), two of them still have more embarrassing drunk public moments than you do.
