Purdue University Student Finally Gets Car From Scumbag Dealership Who Refused To Give Him His Prize For A Field Goal Competition

Earlier this week I blogged about a Purdue student who kicked a 20, 30, and 40 yard field goal to win a Kicks for Cash competition during halftime at the Purdue vs Indiana State football game, and instead of getting the prize he was told he won on game day (a 2 year lease on a car), the dealership e-mailed him a few days later saying he kicked the 40 yard field goal 0.07 seconds after his 30 second time limit expired. Good job. Good effort. No car for you.

The slime balls at this car dealership even went as far as bringing out the big guns by hiring former Vice President Mike Pence's PR crisis team to see how they could flip public perception about them weaseling out of approximately a $15,000 car lease.

Well, that scumbag car dealership has now flip flopped and decided to give the Purdue student his prize after taking a look in the mirror and realizing making good on your word is the right thing to do being dragged online and publicly shamed by anyone with a platform. Now the dealership is doing the bare minimum to right their mistake ...

CBS Sports - In a press release, [the car dealership] Rohrman Automotive Group has offered [the Purdue student] Spangler the option of taking a two-year car lease or $5,000 cash. In addition, Rohrman Automotive plans to donate $5,000 to Ross-Ade Brigade, the student section at Purdue's home football games.

Two-year lease or $5,000 cash is an insult. You just tried to take advantage of a college kid because you thought you had all the power in the situation and could get away with it. You showed your hand, you're a bunch of sleazy lowlifes. You've got to go above and beyond to make this right. Forget a lease, give the kid a car, or add a zero into that cash prize.

I might be being too hard on this dealership, but this is payback for them subjecting Indiana to the worst local tv commercials of all time. They've only uploaded the "good ones" to YouTube, so believe it or not, this is some of their better work.

As for the $5,000 donation to the Ross-Ade Brigade, is there anyway they can switch that money over to pay for some NIL deals? Purdue football is struggling after losing Jeff Brohm to Louisville. 5k ain't going to get you too far, but the Boilermakers need all the help they can get. Luckily for Purdue, they can prove they aren't the worst football team in Indiana if they beat Notre Dame today.
