TJ Watt Thinks He Could Go Lead A Texas High School Football Team To A State Championship Right Now As Their Quarterback

Look I know this didn't happen just yesterday, but it popped up on my TikTok feed just after I watch Livvy Dunne glaze Jack Mac, and I thought it was really interesting. I went to the blog to see if our Steelers guy had touched it yet, but alas, he was out triple doinking field goals left footed. Anyways, point remains that this is an interesting topic and a quick Google search has shown me that no media source has covered it yet. Maybe Cam Heyward and his "Not Just Football" needs to get its follower count up!

Anyways, the way this story goes is that TJ Watt says he can lead a High School football team to a State Championship, in Texas, by playing Quarterback.

Before we get any further, let's size up what it means to win the Texas State Championship, looking at last year's 6A winners, Desoto. All they did was go 16-0.....

….playing a grand total of one game within double digits, including putting up 74 points in the state final. And then bring back a top WR prospect in the country (named Boobie Feaster). Texas A&M commit at RB. Virginia Tech commit at QB. SMU commit at WR. SMU commit at Safety. TCU commit at Linebacker. Syracuse commit on the Line. No. 12 athlete in the country, who is still uncommitted. Etc, etc, etc, etc.

^ I have no clue which was you all will sway on this topic, but I think it's pretty clear that TJ Watt could NOT lead an average Texas high school football team to victory against this squad. And honestly, I'd even let him play on the Defensive Line. Go both ways, QB and DE. But football is a team game, and if you're outmatched at 10 of the 11 spots at all times, you're going to lose, even if it is the most important position in football.

I will say this though, he probably could do this in Vermont or New Hampshire. Would get to the ball in two seconds on defense, and would just run wildcat on offense and no one would be able to tackle him. But Texas? Come on now. I don't think Patrick Mahomes could go lead an average Texas HS Football team to victory over Desoto last year. Or am I completely missing the boat on this?
