"That’s Like My Two-Year-Old Throwing A Fit Because I Take His Dessert" -- The Philadelphia Phillies Bent The Rays Over The Knee And Spanked Them Like A Spoiled Child

One of the Phillies' favorite plays to run in baseball is a little something called "everybody hits". Honestly it's pretty genius. All you have to do is step up to the plate and obliterate every ball thrown your way. I don't know why they don't run that play all the time, but they certainly had it going last night when Edwin Uceta got on the mound for the Rays last night in the bottom of the 8th with the game tied 4-4.

The first batter he faced with Cal Stevenson, who put a double out to right and drove in 2 runs. Up next was Garrett Stubbs, who was too busy firing up the postgame locker room soundtrack to worry about getting a hit so we can just forget about that AB. After that was Buddy Kennedy, the greatest baseball player to ever come out of Millville, NJ. He picked up his first hit as a Phillie with a single that brought home Stevenson to make it a 7-4 ball game. Just as Buddy Kennedy was getting comfortable on 1st, Trea Turner stepped up and launched a 2-run homer to center. 9-4 good guys. And just to keep the good times going, Bryce Harper slapped a double out to left.

5 batters faced, 4 hits, 5 runs. Thanks for coming out, Edwin. Unfortunately he couldn't hang around any longer because the next batter after that was Nick Castellanos, and Uceta was ready for his night to end.

Presidential debate going on a couple miles away at the National Constitution Center, so naturally Nick Castellanos has to insert himself into another historical moment.

This is exactly what the Phillies needed. A little donnybrook to get the boys fired up heading into October. I know people have been getting on Bryce Harper lately for a few hustle plays, but this man was ready to roll the moment that pitch made contact with Castellanos. Not a single ounce of hesitation, just an immediate "hey mother fucker" and dash for the mound.

This team needs to be playing some angry baseball from now until whenever this thing ends. Fortunately for them, Edwin Ucenta flipped the on switch for that.

"That’s like my two year old throwing a fit because I take his dessert before he’s finished” -Nick Castellanos, who always somehow knows the exact right words to say.

Great inning, great dust up, and great win for the best team in baseball.
